A visual listing of the things I have learned this summer

As summer is coming to a close, I thought I'd take some time to reflect on what the summer of '09 has taught me...for those of you that just check out my blog to see pictures, I have included them :)

1. Vacation is a necessity of life sometimes. Especially after working 9 out of 10 days.

2. You can never EVER have too much fun with your mom.

3. Sometimes you have to be selfish to be happy.

4. My family has got to be completely abnormal. We all get along fairly well, and enjoy each others company...there is apparently something incredibly rare about that.

5. Anchorman is the best movie ever made.

6. The best things in life come in small packages.

7. Age is just a number.

8. Some friends will be around forever...even when they are not around.

9. If you follow your dreams, you might find that they end up following you.

10. When it seems like everything is tumbling down...You are really not that far from everything being put back together.

Has your house ever been so dirty...

That you just want to move out, leave it all there, and start over?
NO THAT IS NOT MY APARTMENT, BUT...
That is exactly the way I feel about my blog, so I am turning over a new blog-leaf.
I vow to:
-update regularly
-post pictures
-actually tell people that I have a blog

So... let's get down to business :)

I bought a new car, and those of you that are close to me know what a FIASCO it has been. I bought this beauty on the 24th of June, and just two days ago got it out of the shop.

Three days after I bought it, my car broke down on my way home from work ( my fourth shift that week). I spent that entire weekend trying to figure out with the dealership what to do. They finally put me in a rental and sent my baby out to Hiley Mazda in Hurst. Turns out...I needed a new engine. The good news in all of this is that Allen Samuels paid for the ENTIRE thing. They really did a great job of making sure I was taken care of. The other good news is...I have a brand new engine in a used body. So...pretty much I have a new car :) Her name is Roxy ( since she's an RX-8). All of you that were really attached to Pete the PT Cruiser, never fear. He is in the custody of my faithful brother, who is very happy to have air conditioning.

Yet another adventure I have had recently is taking the nieces to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Now...the nerdy people go and see the midnight showing. The SUPER NERDS stay up for the 3:15 AM showing to beat the crowds. Cue nerdtastic pictures:

Kami and I in our Dumbledork shirts

Brook and I

A good view of the t-shirts we made

That's right...we bedazzled the sleeves with Harry Potter insignias

The full ensemble

Our heads are kind of cut off, but I ADORE this picture

I told the girls to show me their "eager face"

Hurry up and wait.

We had so much fun and the movie was A-MAZ-ING. I'm sure it is a fun night that we won't soon forget. Well...that's all for today. I PROMISE I'm going to be better about updating!!!
